Our Services

The information provided will hopefully answer many of your questions concerning our practice and office procedures. Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.

APPOINTMENTS
Although we pledge to provide service within 48 hours of request, we cannot accept walk-ins unless they are considered emergencies. Also, due to the obstetrical services we provide, emergencies occasionally cause delays. If a delay or postponement is anticipated, we will make every effort to notify you prior to your arrival.

As a courtesy, we ask that you arrive early for your appointments to fill out necessary medical documents.

Cancellations
If you are unable to keep your appointment or you believe that you will be late for your appointment, please call us as soon as possible. We will make every effort to reschedule your appointment that same day. Your courtesy in notifying us as early as possible with your cancellation will allow us to offer your appointment time to other patients.

EMERGENCY CARE
For emergencies, call our office at (915) 591-7277. For obstetrical care, please go to the hospital where you are registered. Upon your arrival you will be evaluated by the hospital medical staff and Dr. Novoa or his on-call coverage will be notified.

INSURANCE
First Choice accepts almost all insurance programs available in the El Paso area. Please bring your insurance card to each appointment. Please remember that you are responsible for any co-pay, deductible, or charges not covered by your insurance. Payment is due in full at the time of service. Medicaid pending and private pay programs are available.

TELEPHONE CALLS
Although our staff is trained to answer most of your questions, we encourage you to make an appointment with one of our providers. If your call is considered non-urgent or an non-emergency and you request to speak to one of our providers, a telephone consultation fee may apply. Calls made after office hours should concern emergency situations only.

Once an emergency is determined, Dr. Novoa will contact you as soon as possible. If you have anonymous call rejection service on your telephone line, please turn it off before calling the doctor by pressing *87. (Consult your telephone directory for assistance). If this blocking service is not turned off and if Dr. Novoa is required to connect your call through the telephone operator, you will be charged a $30.00 fee.

PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS & REFILLS
Requests for new prescriptions and refills must be made during office hours.
